i think i read an interview where he said he is totally cool with them doing whatever they want in terms of adaptation, like it was part of the original deal to make it a show
i think his only real involvement besides "consulting" is writing 1 ep / season, so he can promptly get back to not writing winds of winter

at times i feel like i just want book 2 go hurry the fuck up because i already know whats going to happen; but then i come across chapters like this that remind me that the book is basically the full version and i dont actually know how its going to happen.

as soon as i realized what was happening i went back a few pages to reread. because i felt like they were trying to foreshadow something but never really alluded to it. and with the chapters really focusing on this event you just knew it was going to be big.
