reasonable goal, try to shoot for 2 lbs a week.

something like weight watchers online or calorie counting is a good idea if you want a reference on how much you should be eating, cut calories to 1400-1700 a day maybe?

ofc good luck m8

Actually p good day one. I'm impressed.

Might have used a diff bread or a pita to limit the carbs a bit, also depending on the rice serving for dinner have lessened that a bit, but over all good job.

Did you use brown or white rice?

YES!

though i think thats the house brand for one of the huge supermarket chains. many stores wont even carry an alternative for things like egg whites.

does a person really need to add protein to a diet? i never understood the additives unless someone spends 2 hours a day training :donno:

Several, among those is your body by and large is mostly made up of protein. It makes you feel fuller, it actually keeps your metabolism running, has thermogenic properties etc etc.

Enjoyed a breakfast this past weekend entirely composed of local farm products at the farmer's market.

Never had a fresh egg like that before, it was amazing.

Nah, there is truth to it but anything aside from just straight like whey protein is snake oil shit. Like buy our casian whey protein or protein with *insert bullshit here* for 2x the price is snake oil

pretty sure that most peoples bodies aren't able to handle 60g protein in a single sitting and that a bunch of it is going to be straight waste product

definitely try new foods whilst dieting. repetition will kill your progress and you'll go back to eating crap

lettuce wraps - chicken or 95/5 beef with veggies etc
egg white omelets with veggies - real egg whites are a million times better than shit from a carton
shrimp is ridiculously low in fat/cals - try with reduced salt soy sauce -> http://funnyloveblog.com/2012/01/05/hibachi-shrimp/
its going to sound 1/2 gay, but grab a "cooking light" magazine for some ideas - theres always a few fun preparations of veggies without mass butter/oil\
morningstar farms, bro - join the dark side
rice, rice, rice - just use it as a filler for meals (tacos/fajitas, with w/e protein you have, etc)
also, find a few snacks you like that aren't terrible. i eat a lot of pretzels - they're dry and fill you up quick. Snacking can kill your diet if you don't snack responsibly

thats terrible to do it midweek. weekend markets are the best, 100% quality meat and eggs, fresh as can be.

my personality and behavioral style lend to preferring routine
this has worked for me in the past with great success -- what killed it was the change in routine (4 years of night/weekend work schedules)

You should find some things/recipes to diversify your diet before you get sick of the same thing. I would imagine that just leads to cheating, but you may be the type of person who can do that (I personally can't).

On the other hand, eating the same thing everyday sets a routine which makes it easy to follow. Yes its boring as hell, but you know what you are allowed so if you can deal with it its tough to cheat

It just depends on the person. Maybe a different meal for each day of the week then it's still routine.

yeah, maybe. i'm the type of person who could eat chicken + broccoli + rice-a-roni every day for a month and be ok with it. maybe id make chicken into tacos every so often, or switch up the hot sauce, but otherwise, whatever

best part of this so far has been the absolutely regular and daily poops

they started extra bloody and irritable but quickly transitioned to rock solid ass orgasms

if its like 8pm and i havent shit yet i just go to the toilet and sit down and a respectable mass will have already turtled from the anticipation

win

Starting out well and looking good mate! Looks like you have the routine down pretty well for eating. Any exercise plans? Starting strength worked well for me, combining weights with cardio.

That is one very enjoyable benefit of healthy eating. I particularly appreciate your description of it.

A few tips that I found helpful on two common healthy meals that I picked up:

You can jazz up egg whites in a few ways so you don't get sick of plain egg whites. A bit of salsa makes them like a completely different meal. BJs Wholesale Club sells big bags of frozen peppers and onions that make them an easy addition to your healthy diet, and some of those also change up the meal (and can be combined with salsa). If you occasionally want a breakfast burrito, Mission's "Carb Balance" tortillas are complex carbs (they don't spike the blood sugar of the diabetics I cook for). Salsa, hot sauce, peppers and onions, and other things make nice omelettes for breakfast and you can vary it up so you enjoy something different every day. Toss a real egg in there if you need to jazz it up one day.

If you find yourself eating a lot of broiled/baked/grilled chicken breast, a little bit of spicing it up goes a long way, even if you cook a week's worth of chicken at a time. Cut a slit on the top of a chicken breast, put some sundried tomato in there. Sprinkle one with adobo, one with chili powder and paprika, one with Mrs. Dash, dust one lightly with flavored breadcrumbs, and leave a few plain. You can dip most of these in unflavored nonfat greek yogurt and it's good, and you can mix a bit of garlic or something into the yogurt and it'll pair nicely with lightweight salad veggies.

awesome suggestions

as this continues to become more routine and regular i have noticed having more ambition to cook

overall, i need to cut out the purdue shortcuts (sodium) and start grilling my own chicken

i have also introduced variance in breakfast by having a banana with oats, or instead of the apple, or somewhere in between
i also mixed oats with applesauce this weekend when i ran out of egg whites which was delic

the idea to add salsa to egg whites is excellent, i cant believe i havent thought to do that
