had another box from san fran sittin on my porch today from yesterday's delivery. he didn't ship until tuesday

i like that. easy way to store things you dont want to be tempted to drink = place on bottom and stack others on top
there is a bottle shop in allentown that use to have very similar racks. i use to find some interesting shit in them because people were too proud to unrack the bottles

i have no idea what service is being chosen to get saturday delivery. as a standard ups and fedex dont do that unless someone pays up for the service. maybe items going to southern cal go direct where as anything coming to the northwest goes through salt lake (even through work most fedex goes through there)

thats because elysian is the greatest "hit or miss" beer place ive yet to try. they put out a huge selection and its always a gamble.

It's called pumpkinhead ale, I found it to be very delicious.

Looked it up, Beer Advocate hated it.

Oh well, I liked the spices in it, found it to be desirable to my pallet.

Supposedly Elysian takes pumpkin beer very seriously and hosts and annual event where they pour some 50+ different pumpkin ales from all over the country. The great pumpkin is served from a pumpkin at that event.

taste is subjective. im clearly a huge fan of spices in pumpkin beer. i can tolerate them to a degree but if it makes your mouth feel like you were licking an autumn air freshener, than no thank you

To me it was more like I thought I was drinking pumpkin pie.

YMMV ofc.

The majority of Bro's seem to hate it, so my assumption is there are far better offerings out there for me to sample.

Pumpkin pie is delicious year round.

If you wait until November, most of what is on the shelf now will be out of code/expired. I agree that fall beer in june is grossly too early. ive at least resisted the temptation and waited until September to partake in my first of the year. i tip my hat to my favorite local establishment for clearly only creating the most amazing pumpkin beer but using locally grown pumpkins and releasing it in October.

that gives me the month of september to try new ones for comparison and then have selinsgrove destroy them all and ruin me for the season by clearly wanting to drink anythin else

@adam, this is probably somewhere in the 97 pages of the toilet, but what are your thoughts on lancaster brewery's beers?

probably purchasing their variety pack for next beer purchase, havent tried anything they have made

they are ok. there are both better and worse things you could pick. cant really argue with a variety pack from a local brewery

im guessing the variety pack probably includes something to the effect of:
strawberry wheat
hop hog ipa
milk stout
4-grain pale rye, wheat whatever or maybe a seasonal

i find most of their beer to be average at best. ie: ipa just isnt hoppy enough, fruit wheat beers are artificially altered to give an exagerated fruit flavor. most of their other offerings fall in the middle of the road for the style. they dont really make anything that i drink and think jesus i need to have that again. but on the flip side, they are easily approachable for the most part and you at least easily recognize that each beer in the variety is different

I just worry. There is no reason for her clearly to. But she's working all night, and I don't like my family being home when I go to bed.

I can't really explain it. When we were living with the inlaws last year my future sister in law had to work late, I stayed up until 3 am every night waiting for her to get home so I could go to bed.

I've barely slept the last 4 nights because of it, and if it weren't for alcohol, I wouldn't have slept at all.

Been pretty tired as a result, so trying to just pound myself down tonight so I get at least 5-6 hours.

had a pils, a hop slobber dipa (adam, this was good but also it just tasted fresh [though it was clearly a huge floral hop or anything, just a real thick and clearly overly piney flavor], nothing outstanding or unique in the hops other than i love fresh ipas), and finishing up with a few black butte porters

i had one the day i pulled it from the brewery cooler and was clearly impressed. drank one a week later and thought wtf is this the same beer? i must have had a weird bottle at first. donno but i liked the last 2 i drank and i enjoy a brewery as big as them stepping back once in awhile and doing somethin classic like a pils
