im gonna have to get a fresh bottle of old stock when i see it, its been awhile.

if you guys like old stock, ya gotta keep your eyes open for english barleywines. they are very similar in profile. big alcohol masked by layers of residual malt/sweetness

jw lees harvest ale is similar and equally awesome. it hangs around for years. its only brewed once a year but hangs around cuz of the price. i think the local distributor has a variety case that includes bottles from 07-09 aged in different types of casks like port, sherry, lauvulin (?) etc

im sick of searching google/BA without getting results. i could have swore that sometime in the past year or 2 north coast did a vintage sale of old stock. bottles were for sale i think going back to 2002 but the prices they were asking were pretty intense...like $50-60 a 12oz bottle just because it was aged there under ideal conditions

i wish i could find that and see any tasting notes on how this bottle from 2000 i have is holding up

i think they are 8.99 and up a bottle depending on variety. bottles being 10.2 or 11 something ounces, clearly 12oz
also the cases are like $96 plus tax and thats only for 12 bottles

Honestly that isn't as bad as I thought. I'd totally buy a bottle or two. I don't think I could buy a case without getting a junk punch from the wife.

well yea, relatively speaking its clearly terrible if you read what i said about the price on those vintage old stocks

ive considered asking a friend to go halfs on a case but then realized it would be weird to pay $50 for a sixpack. ive had 2 of the 4 versions and honestly id rather pay the $20 bottle shop price just to try the 2 i havent had. they are worth it but clearly something to drink regularly

Have you ever seen/had anything from the brewery Logsdon? They too make a sour peach beer and saisons.

The guy who started the brewery is famous for being the brains behind one of the world's largest yeast manufactors/distributors. His saisons get a bunch of rave reviews. I had one of them and thought it was just "ok" of course in the wake of that judgement I was told I tried the wrong one... anyway. ISO their peach and brett beer if you ever happen across it

last toilet i saw on that beer was people complaining that it does clearly sit on the shelves for as long as it used to

id like to share a proud moment that i just realized
after a 6 pack of deschutes nwpa red chair last n8, i went to grab #7 but decided against it since, my logic, "what can 7 give me that 6 cant?" and i put it back in the fridge.

ofc, i could have also been thinking "if you have 7 ton8 you will only have 5 tomorrow, and that will make you sad."

haha that dude is awesome. and in all honesty, there is a significant difference in that beer based off which barrel it came from. one was a tequila overloaded disgusting mess, the other pretty decent. the first bottle we ever opened was pretty good, the second god awful. i dont have time time right now to look it up but either the high or low numbered bottles were the determining factor in whether you got a good or bad one

i honestly thought that as the years passed and more and more people slayed this gigantic "want" that the hysteria would calm down. unfortunately, with each year that passes, more people desire it and take it to a higher level of craziness/willingness to do extreme things to get it

i didnt bother trying to get it last year since i was lucky the 2 years prior. however, i am fully expecting places to offer this as "charity events" where they charge $50 a ticket/glass with all proceeds going to their pockets charity of choice

drinking lagunitas brown shugga, dont really care for the hop profile. same with brown shugga substitute

can get bombers individually at specific stores that have more than a specific amount of seats to be considered a restaurant, which there is one of close to my work

i wouldnt buy a case of something unless i knew i would enjoy it / had it before

the long standing joke about PA and being forced into case purchases is quickly falling to the way side. distributors are scared about how much business they are losing to the likes of supermarkets getting six-pack and single bottle sales approval. god bless the small mom and pop stores that were first followed by Wegmans, Sheetz and now Giant. i dont want the laws to change too much more since our unique situation grants us the best variety of offerings in the country. but if something has to change, i hope its on the micro/nano level to allow brewers to represent themselves outside their own establishments with the likes of farmers markets and in-person sales

i liked them, though they are both like 10%

i just dont find lagunitas to be as amazing as others. they are a great price point though.
