Brooklyn Blast is in bottles now? I hope to find some of that, I like it a lot and a friend has been dying for it to be bottled for a couple years. I was going to be in Brooklyn today if the weather wasn't so wretched.

Lagunitas Little Sumpin Wild, when fresh, is one of the best beers I've had. It doesn't have a freshness date on it, but after a few weeks and clearly more than six, the bitterest edge wears off and it is very rich malt sweetness topped by flowery hop sweetness, it is amazing.

Heavy Seas Winter Storm is OK but clearly something I'd go for again. Loose Cannon is one of my top five though, it's so damn good and very drinkable for a beer like that.

Tonight's beers are Sixpoint Resin, Miller High Life ($9 for 18 bottles so that's clearly bad) and maybe Stone Smoked Porter later on. The smoked porter was "expired (last year's) so I paid $3.99 for a bomber of it. There's one liquor store a few towns over that I stop at when in the area, because they put old stuff on clearance including things that age really well. There's usually something worthwhile like $5.99 seasonal sixers when the next season's come in, and sometimes I'll strike gold like getting five and a half year old bottles of Rochefort for a couple bucks each because they're "expired".

heady topper review, it tasted like a moderate ipa, i tasted the fruitiness of it and i guess i dont enjoy that taste to appreciate it

i thought it was an average (compared to what i usually drink) ipa

also, i have no idea what an american wild ale is, but i had one that was very good, i dont even remember what brewery it was from

cigar city is in top 3 best breweries i have visited
their russian imperial stout "marshall zhukov" remains the single best blank slate beer ive had. meaning, they take that beer which is awesome in it's own right and seasonally add shit to it, to morph it into completely different creations which are 90% of the time even better than what it started out as.

IE: hunahpu is marshall zhukov but with mole spice additions: vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, 3 types spicy peppers (top 5 best beers ive had in my life)
zhukovs final push has kopi luwak coffee added
they have also aged it in a number of differebt spirit barrels: apple brandy being my favorite

heady topper while fresh (IE: within a week of it being canned) is phenomenal. the longer it sits, the more boring and average it becomes. unless you had a friend go to Vermont this passed weekend, buy it and bring it directly to you, you are missing out on just how good that beer is

nugget nectar was just released on monday. for science buy yourself a case. drink a bunch of it right away and then stash a couple botles away for a month or 2 and revisit, i bet your opinion is similar (it fades and turns to meh)

This is finally making it's central PA debut this month.
How is it? Some have told me its no better than their normal fresh IPA but I still plan on trying it for myswlf and forming my own opinion.
