the need for non-stop news coverage is so over the top when shit like today happens. they just dont have enough valid material to fill the time, so you get terrible opinionated pieces, or live interviews with a parent who just wants to find her child. lets spend 90 seconds watching a crying parent ask if her kid is alive. good call.
but then again imagine the outrage by people if they got home from work and the news was just talking about traffic accidents or local sports. its a no win proposition. just need to tune out after you get the basic, verifiable fact of the situation.
speaking of verifiable facts, they were misreporting the number of dead seemingly all day. because fact are secondary to shock value i guess..
