where do i download the updates m8s?

when you start up tf2 it does it automatically

try to launch the game
if it launches, its fully updated, if not, it will prompt all the updates to download/install themselves

i wanna do it without launching

Open up steam and when you double-click TF2 it will start the update process and then it will prompt you to start the game when it is finished. Simply click cancel when the download is done and the game will not launch.
