Does it use up much?

Deciding which internet plan to switch too, but the fastest one we can get here is a 5GB dl limit. So...do you know roughly how much Tf2 downloads when you're playing?

e: and if you guys can lmk what "decent" or average internet speed is, would be n1

like 8mbps or w/e....donno, just diso tf2 playing.

Average latency on the DC server for me is around 30. Depending on where you live and what your connection is, it could be lower or higher. You can play tf2 quite decently with up to 125 ping, but you need to set your rates so that the ping is constant and not jumping from 100-200.

My connection is DSL, on average I get about 3-4 meg download speed. I previously had cable and got 1-2 meg down and my ping on the server was more like 60-70.

If you have a limit to what you are allowed to download per month, you might run into a problem if you are playing tf2 for hours on end each and every day. I am not 100% certain how much bandwidth tf2 takes up, I can probably check that on one of the netgraphs tonight, but I know some other games like battle field 2 can soak up to 200 megs in only a couple hours of play.

If he can get a 8 meg connection as stated, he could potentially have the same latency as me and I am located only a few states away.

Stop being a douch and go back to your bottle of goose. If you are going to make a statement and then contradict yourself, don't bother.

24 mbs connection plan = Good?

Found some more, internet plans going up to around 50 gb/month, which I hope is enough. Slightly expensive though.

Why is it that internet is based off bandwith and not speed pricewise in aussieland?

based off both I guess, 24mbs is the fastest I can find, and the highest bandwith I could find was like...60 GB/month.

About 120 a month + 24 month contract connection fees etc, will ask mom who will probably ___
