gates open = your troops fight before walls/defenses
gates closed = your walls/defenses are broken before troops start fighting

fyi: this started because some dude next to me asked for peace when we both started, i said :k:, last night he attacked me like 6 times.
this morning first thing i did was throw everything i had left at him, i instantly get a message from his guild leader to back off. i said :k:, he said enjoy and they attack with 70k archers lol. i said id buy the flowers and wine for our date.
