have never played torchlight 1, will i be completely lost if i try to play this?

Would be like playing d2 after not playing d1

I only played Torchlight beta. Didn't really play it much after that.

Sadly, I chose to play Ladder Slasher for the majority of my time.

I'd say it's okay to play TL2 even though you may not understand the full story.

But on a different note. I fucking hate bats and bone prison.

Currently running a level 33 Outlander dual pistols, in act 3. I do about 200-400 dps and my poison glaive does 200-700 and can crit for 1.4k and slows them by like 45% and bounces 3 times.. I think that skill is broken to be honest and needs to be nerfed.

nah your damage sounds right imo
im doing 527 dps normal attack, blast cannon does 135% that with a piercing aoe shot that will clear a path in one shot most times. I crit for 1900 and my highest crit is 3500 of course i am only doing 1.1 attack speed though but i use haste 2 non stop so i am really have like .9 attack speed

Luminous Arena is a good place to farm. You go in and kill all the bosses, drops good gold and magics/sets/rares. Then on the first big chest and 2nd orange circle, you wait for 20 seconds and a lever will pop out. Hit that and it will take you to 2 chests and a weird relic that drops a unique gem. Only dropped the gem once. Then continue on and the boss at the end always drop an unique. Then you go back to the surface and when you enter again, you can do it over and over again as much as you want.

if you use the in-game console, you can literally make it rain any item you want (you just have to know the specific item code)

Late act 3 music sounds like SC1 music, euh euh euh euh euh.

Found a rare weapon with the mod "4% chance to cast Fully Heal on kill". I need to find that on something good.

Also, tons of cryptic as fuck puzzles in act 3 dungeons that I would have missed if I didn't accidentally trigger one.

even the in-game db list is wrong if you search for specific items. mostly a guessing game

Protip: Do the optional dungeon Elemental Oasis in act 3 the "reward" is well worth it, bring lots of gold.

also, if you want to dick around and have unlimited gold/life/stats check out the spoiler. if you have no self control like me, this will ruin the game for you.

go to your local torchlight 2 folder and find the settings.file
change console = 0 to console = 1
then save and close
reopen torchlight 2. if steam asks if you want to download from the cloud or upload to the cloud - upload to the cloud
as soon as you enter a game, press CTRL + SHIFT + INSERT (the 3rd key may be different based upon your keyboard layout)
that opens the admin panel

money # (#=how much gold you want to add)
allstats # (#=how many stat points will be added to existing stats)
skillpoints # (#=number of skill points to add to pool)
levelup - obvious
identifyall - again ovbvi
god - godmode
speed - tots cray cray player run speed

aifreeze - monsters just hang out
killall - everything dies except you
item # (#=the item code of a specific item to drop (1-????))
socketable # (#=specific socketable to drop (1-1xx))

speed is awesome. you can literally run from town to the next dungeon in like 4 seconds

My stash got corrupted so I restored my char. This flagged me as a "cheater" so I got me a char to play with I guess.

looks like they disabled the admin console in multiplayer

but you can do whatever you want in single player then juyst create/join a multiplayer game

So I was doing Lan with one of my buddies, and he made it normal on accident and now my elite status is gone..lol, not sure how to make it Elite, I tried going into a lan game with Elite mode but that doesn't change it back. Stays normal now.

Any idea on how to get it back to Elite other than me starting over again?

Only level 7, but I kind of don't want to re do all that work again.

You can play any difficulty, but it displays what you created it on.

The thing is though, it was created on Elite. And once I joined his game, it changed it to normal.

start a3, whats the secret passage trigger for those poison bog type dungeons? got a gold key on the second floor of the opening quest, there seems to be an additional platform higher up but no idea how to get up there.
