sad that this game isnt fun when it could be

theres no context to anything, you queue up for a raid, get thrown into a generic area with 24 people youve never met or heard of who arent even on your server and you will never see again

no one says anything in raid chat the entire time, you fight through trash like a 5 man instance, then fight some boss that has no tactics and no consequences for anything, has no identity as a boss/character and is impossible to wipe on, then loot or gold magically appears in your inventory and you leave the group and are back in town until next week

and yes thats if you use the raid finder, but the thing is, now that the raid finder exists, people who would otherwise put together pug groups to attempt the content, instead just use the raid finder

the most fun part about this game right now is leveling characters, and not because questing is fun, but because theres a clear cut goal and objective you are working for, to reach the max level

i was playing a totally new character that i never played before, had thrown some shit on hotkeys i didnt remember, and the group succeeded without any sort of challenge or adversity at all, and i got my epic piece of gear as a reward

theres no drive to improve my skill playing the character or streamline anything, theres no reason to get better, it wont help me obtain anything faster, i just have to wait for next week to get another epic and hope that increases my average ilvl of gear so i can queue for the next raid encounter (which im sure is just as easy as the one i just did)

theres a difference between
catering to casual players who dont want to spend 12 hours/week raiding
and
catering to players who dont want to learn anything and be perpetually bad at the fundamental aspect of the game, but still get loot like actual players

the single most important aspect of an mmo game is the social community, and blizzard destroyed that

Kael can be frustrating during Phase 2 when all of his dudes come and CC you endlessly. A well timed AMS and trinket (I'm a human) should be enough though, I usually pop army then too.

There is a reputation called The Lorewalkers.

You don't do quests with them, you travel around Pandaria examining and finding different things (they give achievements), which all relate to Lore, and you can only earn reputation with them in that manner.

It's something you'd like.
