After I post in a thread, the forum icon shows new posts even if there are no new posts until I reopen the forum again, but not the thread.

But I think I have the same problem, if I make a new topic, reply whatever, then close my browser and come back, it's still an Unread post with my lost post as the unread one.

i dont think i can fix that, youll have to refresh the forum

This happens to me too, even without posting a reply. I always have to view new threads/posts twice, or click the "Mark Forums Read" link.

i think its because the icons are cached

Maybe. I'll block caching from this site and see. kek

It seems to consistently occur when viewing a topic, but not going back to the forum the topic was in. Such as viewing this post, then going directly back to the main forum index instead of help & suggestions.

ya i guess the read check is only if you go back to the forum of the thread you were reading

i dont see that as a big deal
