i played mass effect 1, imported my character into 2. Mass effect 2 got rid of all the annoying shit of mass effect 1. instead of landing on every single annoying planet, u just scan them and eject probes for resources. also, elevator scenes just load the next level instead of a long slow ride.

there is a lot of dialogue, just as much as the first one. however you can choose to minimilize it if you want. the leveling system is less complicated, which i dont like because i am used to WOW and d2, however it makes it more straightforward so you are guarenteed a spec that is good. so far, the combat is amazing. you use cover better than ME1, much more like gears of war. also your squad is smarter and doesnt die every 2 seconds. the missions i have done so far are amazing. i have a lot of exploring to do however. there are less side quests too, but still a lot of content.

tldr: probably 1:1 combat:dialogue

i totally skipped landing on each planet after doing like 2 of them and hating it. mass effect was gr8, and it sounds like they removed much of the bullshit that made it take way too long. i didnt think they had enough combat in the first, and in dragons age the combat was prevalent enough to make you feel like it was a combat game with dialog, where mass effect made me feel like it was a dialog game with combat.

theres still a lot of dialogue, but the combat is so awesome it makes up for it

The reason i stopped playing ME1 was because it was so fucking long and the combat wasnt great, sounds like they made it much better might give it a try.

beat this last night. truly awesome game. 2 years to wait for 3!

played for the first time last week, logged about 4 hours in my first session. time doesn't exist when you are playing this game, could play for 2 weeks straight and not even notice. games definitely better than ME1.
