And if that's really your argument, how about we do some math and calculate any pitchers Ks over 200+ ABs.. how many ABs does an NL pitcher see a week on average, 4 or 5?

Giambi is maybe just below the average for a first basemen. I don't even know anybody besides Youk and Lee that play defense.
But regardless, defense is a tradeoff a team has to decide on. I'll take a great hitter at first base over a decent hitter with great fielding. I'll take a decent hitter with great fielding at centerfield rather than a decent defensemen with a great bat.
