This looks like a soccer jersey, not a basketball jersey, brah.

Anyway he's the first NBA player born in the 90s to be drafted in the NBA: http://www.nba.com/draft2009/prospects/189.html

I'm taking "I told you so" predictions on his future NBA career, if he ever decides to leave the euro leagues. His stats aren't super-impressive, until you find out that he was born in the 1990s. Apparently he can rebound and play defense, but he looks like he weighs 150 pounds. My prediction is that he spends at least one more year in Europe, joins the NBA, gets injured partway through a decent but shaky rookie season, and then returns from injury to have either:
1) a Nash-like career
2) a general fallout due to a bad attitude and lack of physical ability, and then a middling career or a return to Europe to be hailed as a hero

Either way, I'm tired of seeing him in Gillette commercials. Facial hair first, then shaving commercials. Respect your order of operations.

Usually Euro players have good fundamentals.
He is a pass first point guard. And based on limited olympics where you can't see shit, he played some defense. But thats also pussy defense. So if he can hold up in the NBA hes good to go.

Flynn reminds me of Nate Robinson. If he doesn't start ahead of Chucky Atkins, the Twolves may as well fold.

'Nat' Robinson didn't work as well. I'm just annoyed that so many underdeveloped players are getting contracts when better, more mature players are available for the draft. There's no point in snagging a guy on what will be a one-year contract when he's still not ready, when the other option would be to take a 23-24 year old with an automatic upside. I guess it comes down to a hope-a-pray mentality with young guys. If you get the guy early, you can gain on any trade options later (or possibly keep him, GL to that) if he shows some development.

Nate sucks. I saw one Flynn game and he definitely looked a lot smarter than Nate. Important attribute for a 1 guard.

You can't really trust the talent of point guards. It is a make or break position.

Chris Paul is the only point guard in recent times to actually live up to the hype of his talent.

Most or all of these point guards are busts or just not good enough to be the xfactor for their team.

It is almost the same thing with center and probably to a more extreme degree. Point Guard and Center have the least amount of talent in them.

There are tons of 3,4 forwards and 2 guards.

Flynn is a much smarter player, no question. I was just making a reference to their athleticism. Nate possesses more power, and Flynn is probably faster with the ball.

This is true. Most of the guys in the current draft aren't "true" point guards, or they had bad coaching. Too many guards have a "me first" attitude and they lack knowledge of the game going into the NBA. What you don't know will kill you in the NBA. There are a lot of "power" guards now, and very few guys (like Wade, for example) can pull it off well enough to make a career out of it. What they generally lack is talent. It seems like they're giving it up for improved athleticism.

Rondo. Though he didn't have a whole lot of hype, he is the spark plug for the Celtics.

D Will, Rose

I don't think its that as to spot talent in a center and that talent will probably translate. If you see a franchise center, chances are he'll probably be a franchise center, unless he looks 80 when he gets drafted.

Roys a really good 2 guard who got forced to take point on his team, like the guy in Miami.

Those guys are good. But I think Paul is on an entirely different level. I would consider him better then Nash now since Nash is getting old.

@Steeks, Rondo would be nothing without Pierce/Garnnet/Allen and the combination of many role players.

So being on a team with 3 of the best players in the game and many role players doesn't have anything to do with his success. Many point guards could succeed with the team he has.

Obviously being on a good team helps - but he's at times been their best player on the floor. He has to be one of the best defensive PGs, and he makes everyone around him better. When he develops a nice shot, which he has shown glimpses of, he'll be an All Star. There has been times, last season without Garnett especially, when Rondo was the best player on the floor for stretches of time. Dude averaged nearly a triple-double in the playoffs.

Assets

* One of the fastest players on the planet. Pushes the ball relentlessly, breaks down the 'D,' and is pass-first. Can out-jump most opponents and is a superb rebounder for his size. Piles up steals and keys the break. A fast-improving go-to scorer.

Flaws

* The half-court game can be a challenge for him as his shooting stroke is a work in progress. Still learning the nuances of playing point and turnovers remain an issue. Has seen his maturity/leadership questioned early in his career.

Sums up what I am trying to say, but he's shown improvement in every season. Why couldn't this be his breakout season? He's about to sign a big contract, too.

Rondo is a pass first point guard. Its hard for other players to make you a better passer.

Rondo would be on Paul's level if he could shoot the ball outside of 5 feet, otherwise he posses all of the same skills and may be a better rebounder.

Rondo would be on Paul's level if he could shoot the ball outside of 5 feet, otherwise he posses all of the same skills and may be a better rebounder.

He's been working on that shot, I think he'll have his best season yet this year. I also want to say he's improved his shot every season, though I don't feel like backing that up with statistics. Regardless, there has been times where he's looked great shooting, though he is widely inconsistent.

Rondo is an all-star level player. He lacks pure shooting ability but he's working on it. He makes some bad decisions, but overall he's a fantastic player for drawing fouls and causing nightmares for defenders (post defenders as well, because he's so springy). His battle with Rose in the first round of the playoffs last year should be considered legendary.

As of the Lakers and Wizards, the Lakers should go deep into the playoffs again. The Wizards have great players on paper, but they have a lot of rust to work out. They have the talent to win 50+ games, but I'm not sure it will happen.

D Will, Rose

I don't think its that as to spot talent in a center and that talent will probably translate. If you see a franchise center, chances are he'll probably be a franchise center, unless he looks 80 when he gets drafted.

Those guys are good. But I think Paul is on an entirely different level. I would consider him better then Nash now since Nash is getting old.

@Steeks, Rondo would be nothing without Pierce/Garnnet/Allen and the combination of many role players.

no, rondo is good period, dumb fuck

So being on a team with 3 of the best players in the game and many role players doesn't have anything to do with his success. Many point guards could succeed with the team he has.

donno if you watched the nba season last year :donno:

the big 3 are old now, ray allen is best now
