i call those "centrifuge plays". he actually lost control for a sec there but got it back and turned the momnentum into a really great play. there's a similar lay-up i work on sometimes that looks about the same, except there's no crossover to start and no change of direction at the end. that's a REALLY great in game lay-up. he's lucky nobody was there to pick up the ez charge.
the suns played the zone really well. the lakers are having trouble exploiting it, especially since bynum is slower than usual (equally stupid and bad at basketball as usual, but also slower now). i feel bad for kobe bryant. he was the only Laker playing well last night. gasol was alright, but he showed some limitations. he doesn't do very well vs bodies doubling on him because he can't put the ball down against good defenders. he's a smart player but he's not as good as a guy like ewing, who would turn a zone defense to his advanatge. however, if he locates teammates and defenders a bit earlier and makes plays, he can still dominate the post. he also should've crept lower in the post, rather than accepting so many high post passes. but that last part is phil jackson's problem, not his.
the lakers didn't move well without the ball. their second unit moved better, but they aren't nearly as god as the suns 1st or 2nd unit. so then they just give up efficiency. the lakers need to drive and eastablish a post presence. fisher play HORRIBLY last game; 0 defense, didn't drive or make plays. i don't see the suns winning in LA but i really hope they can do it.
