Well when your best players can't stay on the floor for longer than 4 minutes at a time because they are getting whistled for nothing I'd say there's a reason to be upset.

Pau Gasol is/has been the best player in this series, and Fisher absolutely killed us 4th quarter. Nobody had a 'spectacular' game last night, except Fisher's 4th Q. Props to Ray following up an 8-11 night with a 0-11 night.

Yeah, talk about streaky. How do you set the NBA Finals record for most threes in the game, then follow it up with an o'fer? Was just sad to watch.

I think Celts win game 4. I still see them losing in 6 though.

:donno: about the whistling for nothing. Seemed more phantom calls were being made against the lakers, probably at an attempt to even the fouls out.

Celts are just hackers. If you call a loose game, they're fine. If not....

I don`t think Gasol has been the best player in the series; he wasn`t great last n8 but he`s been good otherwise. Kobe Bryant has been the best player in the series by a hundred billion country miles. Gasol is playing his best basketball, but he`s not playing nearly as well as Kobe Bryant. Rondo has played well (in game 1 he wasn`t himself, due to hip issues), Baby Davis has played well ... basically everyone else in the series has played horribly. Fisher has played well on offense but he should`ve fouled out of every game so far. The Lakers should be licking his balls, because he won the last game for them.

I think the refs have done a shitty job in the series, just because they`ve been inconsistent. The finals crew like to make strong calls (esp. Crawford), but I think they`ve stamped themselves too much on the action. My opinion is that you should have a soft whistle in the finals, and if not, at least make calls consistently. But they`ve been all over the place in terms of the tempo of the calls. At times they`re being really strict, but they somehow haven`t been calling a 10th of Fisher`s cheapshots, Lakers 3 in the key calls, or even the pokes the Celtics have been taking. I actually think the Lakers have gotten most of the benefit of shitty calls in the series, but last night Boston got away with murder imo. Maybe they`re just going to be baised against the away teams in every game. You can`t call everything, but you have to set a standard each game and either let the boys play as the game goes on, or if they get too chippy, go a little heavy on the whistle until the 4th qtr. That`s more or less called ``justice as fairness``, based on fairness to the game. you can`t call a game based on fairness to the rules, or else games would end 7-4 and get nulled by the end of the 2nd quarter.

My analysis so far:

GAME 1 = Kobe + Gasol; Rondo was injured, Garnett was AWOL
GAME 2 = Ray Allen`d; Rondo a little better, Kobe played well again
GAME 3 = Garnett got on track, Allen fell off, Davis was MVP of the Celtics (fml) for G3; Kobe played well, Fisher pulled an Horry-Fisher

GAME 4 prediction = if Rondo plays well, Celtics win; Garnett will cool off, Gasol will do okay, Fisher will play an average game, Davis will come down to Earth but will play well on defense if he gets much PT, Kobe will play well as per his entire career, Wallace will either get fouls and sit or play well again ... same crap as usual

Glen Davis for 6th man of the year

Crawford beat him out fair & square. Milsap, Ginobli, Jason Terry and Lamar Odom were at least as valuable as Glen Davis for their respective teams. Davis is definitely a top 10 6th man, and if it weren`t for him being (relatively) short and unable to jump, he`d be a clear starter in the NBA. My take on Davis is that he doesn`t consistently provide ``instant offense``, and while he`s an EXCELLENT defender, he`s not a shot blocker. A lot of teams would take Birdman Anderson over Davis for this reason. The ideal 6th man:

* provides energy
* is a primary scorer for the bench OR a competent point guard
* block shots (if a FWD) or is a permiter defensive specialist (if a guard)

Davis is somehwat lacking but he`s still a great 6th man. Crawford and Milsap, as well as Ginobli and sometimes Odom are better. Terry is a misfit; I think he`s a legit starter-level guy, and actually not really the best sort of 6th man.

Celts and Lakers playing "anything you can do I can do better" game right now.

Trading baskets, fouls, and even turnovers. Someone tell them to quit fucking copying each other.
