father's birthday

Want to do something original for him. He is recently retired from commonwealth employment, but since he is a workaholic, he has already accepted a new job working for the feds as an engineer.

Ideally, planning a trip hunting or fishing would be awesome but he is disabled and can no longer wonder the woods.

Google "special needs X"? I don't know much about hunting.

Is it possible that he can do charter fishing? Take him to some where tropical and go big game fishing. I've always wanted to take a trip to Costa Rica and go fishing for big fish.

You just pooped :nct: in a non-linked topic right below this, so I wasn't sure what the criteria was for the proper response besides pulling paper out of a hat.

this is an awesome idea however my brother and I have already arranged an out of state hunting trip for his retirement, but because of his new job he can't take the time off to do it this year

I'm leaning more towards a gift that he can open instead of another "add this trip to your agenda"

What about WotLK? TF2? L4D?

Maybe he would like a new gun? Does he collect things or have a hobby besides killing animals?

he doesn't collect anything that I am aware of
and it would be easier to cut his leg off than to get him behind a computer screen

I was debating buying a nice bottle of bourbon and a pair of fine cigars so we could sit and bullshit but this is suppose to be a gift for him clearly me :P

If he appreciates a good drink & smoke, then buy all means, go with that. Perhaps take him out to a nice dinner that he would never pay for himself. You can always smoke a cigar after your bourbon & steak.
