Greetings

Thank you for contacting Blizzard Entertainment regarding our Recruit-A-Friend program. At this time we are not able to retroactively link an account that was created with a any other key or separate trial offer (e.g. boxed copy of the game, Web trial, etc.) to a recruiting account. Only accounts created correctly with the Recruit-A-Friend key will be linked back to the recruiting account.

However, we would like to offer instructions for a possible solution. This process involves creating a new account with the Recruit-A-Friend key that you previously sent your friend and upgrading that account specifically. Once this is done, your friend can request a refund for the purchase made for the incorrect account (as long as it was done within the last 30 days). Please Note, any characters, items, or leveling progress on the current (incorrect) account will become inaccessible once a refund is processed.

Below are the processes to follow depending on if the account was upgraded electronically, or by a copy purchased from the store. If you have any trouble with the directions provided or are experiencing an issue not covered in this email, please feel free to reply to this email to contact me directly with the error you are receiving.

**Please Note: For security, Billing representatives will only be able to discuss account specific details with the individual whose first and last name is registered to the account in question.**

HOW TO CORRECT FOR STORE (RETAIL) PURCHASE:
Once the new account is created using the Recruit-A-Friend Authentication Key, the account will need to be upgraded using a new copy of the game purchased from the store or via the Direct Online Upgrade feature available on the Account Management page. This will upgrade the correct account to a full version of the game.

Please ensure that any scheduled subscription payments on the incorrect account are cancelled. This can be done via Account Management or over the phone with the Billing Department. After cancelling, you will need to contact Activision-Blizzard support at 1-800-757-7707. This number leads to an automated message that will explain the refund process. Please choose the appropriate option specific to the game for which you wish to be refunded.

HOW TO CORRECT FOR ELECTRONIC UPGRADE PURCHASED VIA ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT:
When the new account is created using the Recruit-A-Friend Authentication Key, the account will need to be upgraded as before. You can do this online again or with an unused retail copy of the game (either one will work).

Once the correct account has been upgraded, please have the Account Holder listed on the incorrect account contact us by phone (see contact information below), so that we may review the incorrect account for full a refund.

In order to reach Blizzard's Billing and Account Services department by phone, you may call toll-free at 1-800-59-BLIZZARD (800-592-5499). Customers in Australia should call 1-800-041-378. Representatives are on hand to take calls Monday through Friday between 8am and 8pm Pacific Time.
