whatever you need to get you over the defense cap, dont get more than you need

they are expensive so map out which items give how much defense, and calculate how much you will need to dish out to make it to 535

then start doing heroics and collecting the gear/badges

so whats cap 535?

Unless something has changed, it was 540.

its 540 for raid bosses

for heroics you only need 535

Gotcha, I just figured I would go for 540 regardless when I started tanking.
