TOGC faq
Quote

In the Trial of the Grand Crusader (ie Heroic Trial of the Crusader) you have 50 attempts total before you may no longer attempt encounters for that week. Example time!

Example 1:
If you spent 39 attempts on the Northrend Beasts encounter, you would have 11 attempts left to try Lord Jaraxxus. If Lord Jaraxxus was then beaten after 5 attempts, you would have 6 attempts left for Faction Champions and the other remaining encounters.

Example 2:
If you wiped 50 times on the Northrend Beasts, then you're done for the week.

Example 3:
If you didn't wipe on Northrend Beasts, Lord Jaraxxus, Faction Champions, or Val'kyr Twins, you would have all 50 attempts available for the final boss.

p excited, new content

pretty happy that ulduar is finally pretty much done with

our raid schedule is gonna look something like

tuesday - normal TOC full clear / heroic TOC attempts
wednesday - heroic TOC attempts
thursday - any leftover heroic TOC attempts / GotUR25 progression (extended raid id)
monday - GotUR25 progression (extended raid id)

once we finish glory of the ulduar raider, we will start letting raid ids expire so we can work on Algalon and spend the leftover time we have on clearing whataver hard modes people need to fill holes in loot

i think the 50 attempt system is pretty awesome, its going to fit a 3 day raid guilds schedule perfectly for strictly coliseum, our fourth day is definitely going to be ulduar stuff though

although mileage of those 50 attempts will ofc vary
i forsee lots of wiping to the jormungars in the beasts encounter, which will take chew up quite a bit more time than a wipe to jaraxxus or faction champs (quick and painless)

we have 3 raiding shadow priests right now, one is the raid leader, one is myself, and the third is another accountable guy

we have 2 healing priests, both of which have scheduling issues so they arent available much

dps is relaxing, but you get to the point where everything is exactly the same and it gets boring

healing allows much more influence over the raid, with a few very skilled core healers, we can recruit good dps as we go

definitely feel many times more important as a healer, especially playing a hybrid dps class, theres not really a single fight in the coliseum where my class really shines over something like a mage (i guess anub'arak it would due to the self healing, but euh)

plus i dont like where blizzard is taking the shadow priest, between itemization and the role they set

the only place to really shine is a multi-dotting scenario like mimiron phase 4 (which i would push 7-8k dps over the whole phase by running dots on all 3 body parts and nuking when i could), and we dont have the mana to sustain that any more

spriest in BC was the mana battery, you didnt run out of mana and you provided mana to your group, even still with replenishment we return mana (along with 4 other classes specs) but we still run oom on long fights (im a blood elf too, arcane torrent on every cooldown)

i dont like how highly buff-dependant we are, to be competitive with other dps classes i absolutely need moonkin/elesham crit, warlock/dk spell vulnerability, elesham/demowarlock caster buffs, etc
its terrible in 10 mans
