guild talent customization is gone, every guild gets all the talents when it reaches the required level

path of the titans is gone

there will be no in-game incentive to running 25 man raids over 10 man

you can start a raid week with a 25 man, then downgrade the raid id to 10 man if you dont have people to finish (no upgrading from 10 to 25)

rated battlegrounds dont have any penalty for losing, rating increase for winning (grindan)

reforging is done by town npc's, 40% of a secondary stat to another secondary stat

glyphs are staying boring

archeology, as a secondary skill, will be bland, but every normal player will level it (excluding the lazy 13 year olds who dont gem gear)

raid id's are dynamic so that you can switch to one from another as long as there arent bosses alive in the new raid that you have killed before that week

grim batol is the intro raid, 5 bosses, cho'gall is the end boss

there is a system in development to allow arranged same-faction battlegrounds for fun

So... they completely dropped the competitive aspect out of PvE and battlegrounds?
Damn, they're really pushing Arenas. Yea, just make sure that those participating in the e-sport aspect have all gear made readily available to them; fuck all the others.

Amount of gear in 10/25-Man Raids
The amount of gear in the 25 person raids will be roughly equivalent on per-person basis to the 10 person raids. One thing to keep in mind it that we don't plan to allow players to upshift from 10s to 25s, only downshift from 25s to 10s on a given week.

The statements beforehand said that 25person would have more gear per person than 10s, so I wonder if "roughly equivalent" indicates a change in plans, or just not wanting to commit yet to either "exactly the same" or "more".
The number 6 per boss was being mentioned I believe, so slightly more I guess, but anything can change in testing so I wouldn't say that it is set in stone. But we all know you guys won't call us out if anything changes during a beta, right?

So basically there will be no real incentive (gear-wise at least) to run 25 man raids.
There are rewards like badges/gold for the additional coordination involved, but we are trying to avoid having gear be the reason that one style is better than the other.

this is the philolsophy i hate the most

If you want to overpower the content for a drake though, go for it. Players who did it "legit" had the benefit of having the achievement and mount earlier than anyone else. The most prestigious mounts will change in Cataclysm.

Epic items in Cataclysm
We're actually working on restoring the epic feeling to epic items in Cataclysm. Epic loot should be epic, and something to be very proud of. Our plan is to try and get the Heroic -> Blue Gear and Raid -> Purple Gear balance back.

dont have purple for heroics

since everyone creams over purples they have to be exclusive, and since its not about look what i have, but rather look what i have that you dont, purples must be harder to get than wotlk

well i think they tried to keep them happy by offering achievements but what people really care about is gear. and as long as everyone gets purples and tier the elite wont ever feel as above the rest as they did in classic.
