People consider this white collar crime also, but imo should not be due to the people who kill themselves or lose life savings and do something stupid to themselves/others after it happens...

my understanding is that no one had reason to suspect

he was running like a typical bank scam. everyones fine as long as everyone doesnt want their money back at the same time. he takes your money, spends some of it for himself, and uses the rest to pay back the people who want out.

since everyone always wants in, and wants to stay in, theres no reason it would go awry.
