http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler_Mission

Quote
The Kepler Mission is a NASA space telescope designed to search for Earth-like planets orbiting other stars.[4] Using a space photometer developed by NASA, it will observe the brightness of over 100,000 stars over 3.5 years to detect periodic transits of a star by its planets (the transit method of detecting planets). The mission is named in honor of German astronomer Johannes Kepler.[5]

do you know how perfect conditions have to be for life to exist

its not likely anyone will ever live long enough to travel far enough fast enough to find more life

i know, but this is the closest we have ever been BY FAR to actually searching for at least earth-like planets

i would have to think that at some point in the last 4.5 billion years a ship has flown by this solar system and taken readings

have to agree with this, we will see if we can find any planets that are earth-like.
my expectations are low but im hoping for the best

What happened to the mission to go to Europa. One of Jupiter Moons. It is believed to Have Ice and maybe water. Which could suggest possible aquatic life.

it has been proven there is ice on mars, however we havent sent humans there.

:donno:, i would volunteer even if it was a suicide mission to go to mars, if i had the qualifications ofc

it would probably take an absurd amount of time to get there

and ice is water, but its way too cold there for anything.

its probably pretty close to absolute 0

yes, 2 things:
the thing traveling faster can not be information, energy, or mass as we currently understand physics
im just guessing but i dont think we fully understand physics as they apply to space

point being we dont know what is and isnt possible

lol

also, another trippy question: what are subatomic particles made of? no one ever questions it because youre led to believe they are the building blocks

another trippy question

there are a lot of respected astronomers who beleive we live in a multi-dimensional universe.

8 of them to be exact, that are 2 mm apart from eachother

its not likely anyone will ever live long enough to travel far enough fast enough to find more life

they could come to us?

who says they havent already
theres nothing close enough even if you were traveling at the speed of light

which is absurd

so you dont think speeds faster than the speed of light are possible?
worm holes?
you cant travel faster than the speed of light, im pretty sure nothing can travel even at the speed of light unless it is light

there are things that travel faster, looking it up now
their floor if you will is the speed of light
theoretically if you are traveling at the speed of light, time is not passing

yes, 2 things:
the thing traveling faster can not be information, energy, or mass as we currently understand physics
im just guessing but i dont think we fully understand physics as they apply to space

point being we dont know what is and isnt possible
right, but then again, what isnt mass, energy, or information

lol

also, another trippy question: what are subatomic particles made of? no one ever questions it because youre led to believe they are the building blocks

string theory -> chaos theory is gr8 shit, should read about it for more "hmmm" things

there are a lot of respected astronomers who beleive we live in a multi-dimensional universe.

8 of them to be exact, that are 2 mm apart from eachother

thought it was 9 for string theory/current models of chaos theory

i could be wrong, shouldnt of said to be exact.

not claiming to know much, just took a AST 225 class and watched the universe a thousand times.

From the way things look, we would never know if there was.

We could be just a virtual computer world of some architectural design from some type of shit like the matrix.

I always believe that your dreams are a different dimension within themselves.

just checked

temperatures are like 50-100 degrees Kelvin on Europa

which is the equivalent of -200 degrees celsius (73K is -200C)

No doubt in my mind it is out there somewhere.

I strongly believe there be some life reguardless.

But intelligent life forms is hard to think of.

But then again the universe is infinite and is constantly expanding from our theories.

So from that you can say there could be some.

To be honest i would rather NASA put all the fundings to researching our oceans seeing as we have so much yet to be discovered and results will be much quicker than any space programs

last thought,

we could be looked at as semi-intelligent life to other planets.

maybe they are so evolved they dont even to eat to create energy, and just use tehre mind for commmunication etc etc etc

who knows, maybe my kids kids kids kids kids will know

if they can travel to see us they would think we were barbarians
we only research technology that can destroy us, our furthest advancements are in how to change ourselves and how to blow things up

we would do well if they just enslaved us
