i have a few problems with this.

1. the letter is 3 sentences long
2. if its so urgent, how bout they call me
3. the 800 number they gave me to call is to an AVIS car rental in Madison, IL

they gave me a claim number, but im still going to call the fraud department of the ACTUAL SSA. just waiting to be called back

apparently i owe $271 for overpayment on benefits i received FOUR YEARS ago. the lady on the other line was not very personable, or good at customer service, so i went ahead and was an asshole. i said too bad, its all gone: had you alerted me less than 4 years after sending me the check, perhaps i may have been able to do something about it.

they didnt even give me a payment due date, they just told me where to send it. if it took them 4 years to realize they overpaid me, how long is it going to take them to realize i never sent the check? maybe they'll send me more letters and ill call them and tell them i sent it 4 years ago, so then they leave me alone for a while
