Regarding your textual message sent sometime in the past hour about certain "friends" of yours who think that Yuengling Bock is disgusting...

To say that any beer is disgusting is an outrage unless it was mistreated/mishandled or in any other way abused which led to it going bad and/or getting skunked. Personally, I can hear a bunch of m8's talk about a beer or read a hundred reviews about any beer but I don't form my own opinion until I actually give it a try. From my own experience, there are certain styles I dislike but when I try them I at least approach them with an open mind about what the person making the beer was trying to do.

My tastes are more geared toward aggressive darkness (not talking about you this time Malcom, sorry.) So I know that when someone who generally drinks lighter beers and they try telling me all about a stout they drank that tasted like motor oil, I generally just disregard.

HOWEVER, this little comment about Yuengling crosses the line and im borderline lids magin. What kinda friends are you associating yourself with m8? By god are you listening to the opinions of people who drink light beverages and call that beer? I would expect a comment like this from someone like my dad who only drinks coors light. IMO the only way lite or light should be in your beer's name is if it is reffering to a beverage called "Cuddle humper the ignorant with light blunt trauma to the face from a hatchet."

On what basis did these "friends" make that comment? Have they had other bock beers or even dark lagers for that matter?

If Yuengling bock was disgusting, id like to hear their opinion of Sam Adams Winter Lager or Michelob Bock which are the only 2 that come to mind right now that are similar in style to Yuengling Bock.

I probably have already dedicated too much time to this poop considering if they never had bock beer before it negates this entire poop. It's like comparing a handjob from a stranger to getting your prostate massaged.

Don't get me wrong, if that's what someone likes and they are honest about it then fine cheers to you for knowing what you like. But by the same regards, if you enjoy light beer than you are essentially admitting that you enjoy a watered down and nearly tastesless beverage and have no right to comment on crafted beer with a full, non-Americanized taste.

I love light beer when I want to absolutely smash tons of beer down. I am still about the fastest chugger out of a cup or glass that I've met, and I've taken on men who are 2 or 3 of me large. Aside from wanting to get stupid playing Beer Pong or Flip Cup, or some miscellaneous Drinking Card games at the after party, which usually has Light beer purchased 5-10 minutes until alcohol sales stop for the night and so girls can drink it as well, I don't drink much of it anymore.

Fuck it, who am I kidding, if it's in the fridge I'm drinking it.

EDIT - I do not like it when my friends bash on craft beers without giving them a chance because "they taste like beer" or some other bullshit excuse.

i guess it was spencer who i told this too, but once a buddy grabbed the leftovers of a 30 pack late one night, let it sit in his car until about 5 the next day, and we started chugging them. luke warm, empty stomach, completely fucked up in like 5 beers (which is to say sick and instant headache).

to this day i cant stand the smell or taste of it (well, its been maybe 10 years now, so im sure i could drink it)

I'm not arguing or defending, but that's my brothers drink of choice. I guess he could do worse but I think he drinks it cuz:
1. It's cheap
2. Can drink meni without feeling full
3. It's a pilsner with a higher abv than light

My only comment is that it has too much carbonation

ohh, and i think its perfectly acceptable to be a beer snob, generally with what you buy ofc, but at the same time to not drink a beer that someone offers you because "you dont like it" is somehow against the man code
