Don't care if I have to plug it in. Looking for something safe and the most storage for cheapest price. Prolly want at least 1 TB. Should I just look on Newegg for like a Western Digital?

Well I mean the files that I'd lose would be more important than the money. But if as you say the main brand HDs are good, then that sounds good. Just wondering if any are better than others. And if I back up files for 3 months and the hd is doing well, I should be good right. I'd only have it on when I'm transferring files so only like 6-7 hours every 2-3 weeks.

Seagate is proelbay the biggest pile of shit I ever delt with in my life.
Works great for about 8 months then says gn8.
Even if its 20 bucks more, spend the extra money and go with WD

I've bought 4 externals in my life. An 80 gb for 110. A 160 for 95. A 320 for 100. A 500 for 100. Obviously different times.

Only one that broke on me was the 160. Made by SimpleTech. Sucks cuz I really liked the casing. The thing was only the case broke so I was able to put the harddrive in my desktop and get the shit.

I've broken so many WD ones, but somehow it's always been under warranty. I've broken at least 3, had all replaced for free.
