can someone explain how compounds break down into ions for reactions
i cant understand the shit in class
vaguely understand how to judge charge by the periodic table, but what about when it has a subscript, etc
sample homework problem
whats the net ionic equation when MgCl2 reacts with NaOH
Mg is in grp 2 of periodic table so it forms Mg2+, Cl ?
Na and H is grp 1, so Na1-, H-1, O?
then how do i tell what they form into?
