although my current uses a detachable microphone that plugs into the headset
lets see how plugging the mic part directly into microphone jack works

My webcam has a built in mic in it. It works perfect.

And I just use headphones to listen.

There are only 2 options here.

1. Go cheap and just buy something that will allow you to hear and talk on vent.

2. Buy the best shit in the business.

No use in buying mediocre shit. Either buy shit to get by or buy shit to rock out with your cock out.
