Does anyone know why D3 is only limited to 4 players in a game?

That seems to me like a huge bottle neck on friendships, I'm sure some of us regular Hardcore players (and Softcore ladder climbers as well of course) remember the sometimes huge waiting lists in the OP channels for runs.

I guess it will provide a more intimate experience for smaller groups of friends, not needing a full 8 player game to get the maximum drop/XP rewards, but there are more than 4 of us going to be playing this at a time, and it seems lame to have to not be able to include everyone (which was already a chore in 8 player games).

Well, I guess I was including the rest of our extended FLISTS for actual fast Baal runs. Most of the XP loader shit we did was intended towards FG profiteering (my Annihilus farmers, BO Barb MF/Private/Torch runs, etc).

i think being geared to 4 people will actually be better/more accessible

i remember the arcane sanctuary with my 2 friends at level 17. thats all i really want again.. so fun

Same reason the graphics are outdated, lower required hardware specifications = broader consumer audience.

Also the game requires actual cooperation between party members, good luck trying to do that with 8 people.

I have read about that on the forums, it seems they have gone ahead and ramped up the difficulty, Inferno on Hardcore does sound really exciting.

It will be more along the lines of needing a dungeon composition in WoW won't it?

Only as far as what skills/runes party members are using, not so much which class they are playing.

Basically Diablo 3 will be the embodiment of Blizzard's intentions for WoW (i.e. bring the player not the class.)

Gold only at shipping, my bet is that the demand is just going to be too great. They aren't just going to let sites like d2jsp make all of the money from FG sales to sell Hardcore items.

So it's not like a large part of the serious Hardcore playerbase wouldn't be spending money already, it would be a foolish decision of them to do that.

will jsp trade items for people who dont wanna use the auction house?

Probably not, in game gold has actual worth now.

where is the gold sink to ensure that it doesnt become worthless?

Blacksmith training, stash tabs, auction house, etc.

i think of arcane sanctuary in d2 and everyone working together to clear one branch at a time

if you stop for one second you are behind and run past a bunch of monster corpses before you meet back up with the team, the party moves on at around the same speed whether you were there helping to kill or not

if one of the party members has to stop for something in d3, the party will actually slow down and/or have to regroup with the lagging m8, better environment for teamwork and quardn8

all of a sudden you dont have that demon hunter to deal with the casters or summoners in the back, or all of a sudden the barbarian attracting the skeleton trash isnt there and you need to kite backwards forever, or maybe the wizard isnt there and you spend 25 seconds longer to clear the room and move on
