MSI N9500GT-MD512M GeForce 9500 GT 512MB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0

That is my graphics card and I am using the HDMI port to hook up to my tv as a monitor. However no audio is getting sent but will come out of the headphone jack. Could this be a driver issue? If so where would I get an updated one?

I dont want to use vga for my video.....

HDMI ports don't always transmit audio. Pretty sure it's related to your HDMI ports, nothing to do with wires.

Windows 7 or Vista or XP? Either way Google how to change your default audio device on that OS, you'll figure it out from there pretty easily. Make sure the HDMI cable is plugged into the TV when you are changing the settings.

It was because i needed to connect a wire from my mobo to my video card in order for sound to be suppplied out via the hdmi

I installed the wrong bios software though prior and killed my mobo so had to order a new one
