pretty sure lawn mowers is a very small portion of our fuel consumption
though tbh i could give 2 fucks what the neighbors think of my grass
Bigger than you might think

The national average lawn size is about one-fifth of an acre for the 85 million households with a private lawn
An acre = 43,560 square feet, or 208 a foot square. 1/5 of that = 8712 square feet, or a 93 foot square. for you meter users, thats roughly a 28 meter square.
lets assume 2 gallons to mow that amount, because you are a fat american so you have a non-efficient riding mower but you are also a vain american who mows their lawn twice so you neighbors think you are a credit to neighborhood. lets assume you mow your yard weekly from april to october, 7 months. thats about 30 weeks, or 60 gallons.
60 gallons per 85 million lawns = 5.1 billion gallons of gas for americans to mow their yard. averaged per day that is ~ 14 million gallons/day

The United States consumes about 20 million barrels of oil products per day (bbl/d)...Of that, almost half is used for motor gasoline...Each barrel of oil contains 42 gallons (159 L), which yields 19 to 20 gallons (75 L) of gasoline. So, in the United States, something like 178 million gallons of gasoline is consumed every day.
14 million/178 million = 7%. and i think we can both agree that either a: clearly everyone is mowing their yard weekly for 30 weeks, and b: there is no way it takes 2 gallons to mow a 90 foot square. besides, we have mexicans mow our yards, and those fuckers basically run while working. they know the price to stay in america.
its clearly something to ignore, but its also clearly putting a dent in the worlds fuel price as opec controls 40% of that shit, they raise and drop their output to control prices.
fuck you euro.
