I have discovered that a Shop Vac will indeed work after falling down a flight of stairs, even if it's lid gets popped off and all of it's contents are distributed on the stairs and floor. It will quickly clean them all up.

i have a mini shop vac thats going on 15 years old and it works like a charm
they may be one of mans most durable creations
