I was running stress tests on two hard drives that were probably already bad, that'll be fun to sort out tomorrow. I am going to have to do an extra day's work on computers tomorrow, so I unloaded a pallet of electronics including a few large battery backups/uninterruptable power supplies. We sell battery backups but don't use them, other than the legally required emergency lights, nothing stays on, clearly even our alarm system. Instead of investing in a battery backup for the alarm system, they require a manager and employee to stay overnight, or until the power comes back on. That is going to be quite a while as a big power-line transformer exploded behind our building. I said that I would stay if I was allowed to go get either guns or beer. I got to go home early and I don't have to go back in until tomorrow

If one of the more serious managers hadn't been there, my boss would've been cool with a couple beers and a bottle of liquor, I would've gotten paid time and a half after 10pm.
