1. no multinational corporation has paid 49% in the last 50 years
2. you are a bad multinational corporation if you arnt avoiding as much tax as possible (which is then rewarded in a bonus to the ceo and board of executives)
3. keep drinking the koolaid, maybe you can suck on the tit of one of these giants and you can be better than your neighbor

Wealth is a great thing, that's why they need to contribute a reasonable amount of their disposable income to the upkeep of the society that allows them to make it. Capital gains tax is counter-intuitive because it allows people who make money primarily off the work of others to give less back to the society that supports the people who make them money.

no one will watch this, but the best moment of the movie is when the kid is talking to his dad. his dad tells him he has an obligation to society to be a benefit to it. either through art or w/e.

Standard DC procedure: Joe is right in a political toilet, Joe provides evidence to support his claims, nobody listens. Nobody can tell if Evan is trolling by spouting off the shit he hears from Fox News and Rush Limbaugh or if he is actually a seriously racist fascist conservative.

if you want to cut the deficit, get on board with boehner's plan, or get him to also add stipulations for another trillion to be added from war spending over 10 years.

then we reduce 4 trillion over 10 years instead of 3, and make progress to remove these entitlement problems we have.

rework tax brackets so everyone has the same god damn % so no one can bitch and moan about who is receiving a tax break (since there will be no need for them anyway)

Don't you get tired of complaining about politics 24/7? Or wait is politics just a bunch of complaining without action and if you don't promote such behavior it devalues your schooling and therefore your very existent?

The latter seems to be the case

why dont you get on board with reids plan? just last week the dems wanted to cut 4 tril and the repubs wanted only 1 mil, but on the premise that we have to do this ridiculous debate again right before election in the repubs last ditch effort to promote their side. why do you advocate one side being unmoving on an issue? simpson/bowles is much closer to where the dems are at the moment but they wont let you know that. cut cap and balance is also ridiculous. you want to make it be a super majority to get anything budget-wise done? that would be horrible.

why should there be a flat tax. so someone making 50k can pay 5k (?) and someone making 200k can pay 5k (?). point is 5k to person A means substantially more than to person B. thats why there is marginal taxes in america.

L2 marginal tax

I don't like Reid's plan because it doesn't do anything about entitlement programs

I like the 1 tril cut from defense over 10 years, thats why i said put that on boehners plan

person a makes $20,000 year
person b makes $200,000 year

person a is taxed at 20% and pays $4,000, making a net of $16,000
person b is taxed at 20% and pays $40,000, making a net of $160,000

which is the more livable wage?

nevermind, person b pays more in taxes and is thus a better person and contributes more to society, carry on

absolutes
why dont you get on board with reids plan? just last week the dems wanted to cut 4 tril and the repubs wanted only 1 mil, but on the premise that we have to do this ridiculous debate again right before election in the repubs last ditch effort to promote their side. why do you advocate one side being unmoving on an issue? simpson/bowles is much closer to where the dems are at the moment but they wont let you know that. cut cap and balance is also ridiculous. you want to make it be a super majority to get anything budget-wise done? that would be horrible.

why should there be a flat tax. so someone making 50k can pay 5k (?) and someone making 200k can pay 5k (?). point is 5k to person A means substantially more than to person B. thats why there is marginal taxes in america.

L2 marginal tax

I don't like Reid's plan because it doesn't do anything about entitlement programs

I like the 1 tril cut from defense over 10 years, thats why i said put that on boehners plan

90% sidestep answer, 10% "compromise".

http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/hous...ng-budget-plans
here, you can read up on both plans.

im clearly saying reids plan is the answer. but boners plan is as absurd as ryans plan was. its basically politicians saying "hey, we looted the coffers for years, and now we want to agree we dont have to pay you back". social security would have been solvent at least until 2035(+/-) until the bush tax cuts and the 2001 recession (they go hand in hand). the super majority clause would be a disaster. this is nothing more than each side saying "its clearly my fault, its your fault". congress controls the purse strings, congress has failed us.

the real question is should all the cuts come only from the very thing EVERYONE has been paying into or should they come from a balanced approach. taxes are clearly too high, they are too complicated, and only the rich avoid them.

also, discussion of another tax holiday is trying to be included to this, fucking politicians.

if you want to cut the deficit, get on board with boehner's plan, or get him to also add stipulations for another trillion to be added from war spending over 10 years.

then we reduce 4 trillion over 10 years instead of 3, and make progress to remove these entitlement problems we have.

rework tax brackets so everyone has the same god damn % so no one can bitch and moan about who is receiving a tax break (since there will be no need for them anyway)

person a makes $20,000 year
person b makes $200,000 year

person a is taxed at 20% and pays $4,000, making a net of $16,000
person b is taxed at 20% and pays $40,000, making a net of $160,000

which is the more livable wage?

he avoided that part of my reply, clearly interested in actual discussion cuz that may cause him to actually reevaluate his views

42% general tax rate, $65,000 standard deduction (money earned beyond $65k per year does clearly increase quality of living/prosperity/happiness, that's a basic living wage and financial stability.

most of this toilet is tl;dr

the shorty and skinny of it is this:

some take politics seriously (have to work for their livings)
some take politics as a joke (have had mommy/daddy inheritance/support for their livings)

there is no common ground

the real question is, why are you (joe/steve, as the only real contributors with anything worthwhile to read) still fucking pooping about this shit

All I have to do here is repoop arguments that are already made elsewhere. Strong, fluid arguing, built upon practice on the internet, has gotten me two jobs for politicians (who both turned out to be huge letdowns/sellouts :()

Don't you get tired of complaining about politics 24/7? Or wait is politics just a bunch of complaining without action and if you don't promote such behavior it devalues your schooling and therefore your very existent?

The latter seems to be the case

if you mean "by without action" do you mean emailing, voting for, or generally letting my thoughts be known, as doing nothing? what is doing something?

doesnt matter

flat tax rate eliminates that problem. dont tax someone more because they are smarter or more capable.

this just in:
CBO said reids plan actually saved more than boehners. both overestimated the savings though.
