does your costco roast on-site? if yes, dont ever buy the starbucks again. their house stuff is so much fresher and easily competitively priced.

strong? like very dark, or just packed with flavor? PLIZ clarify!
most boutique roasters will grind, and you still get great beans.

i would think your best bet is to either just get them espresso blend and ask for whatever specific grind you need (this will have to be a special request as its sacrilegious to pregrind espresso), or seek out a local coffee roaster and let them know exactly what you want. aka a dark roast and ground. its important to note that most local roasters are proal just coffee geeks and would love a chance to do something just to help out.

clearly sure where exactly you are these days, but near milwaukee? ill help locate a local one that seems appropriate.

try this
http://shop.colectivocoffee.com/collection...matra-highlands

figure out what type of grind they need. sumatra is generally a great dark/earthy roast. since you are apparently buying for a clearly coffee geek im sure this will be better than their usual coffee.
